This arrow is intended to break the power of misfortune, especially during critical ages, and counteract or prevent bad luck for the entire household. If you feel like you’ve had a particularly unlucky year, this arrow may also help to symbolically break that cycle.

In life’s journey, the “critical ages” are considered to be times of extra change or uncertainty. These critical ages are 25, 41, 42, and 43 for men, and 19, 32, 33 and 34 for women. During these times, the arrow is intended to invoke the energy of the Kami to disperse misfortune associated with these periods of change or uncertainty and add stability.

This arrow has been carefully handcrafted in Japan and includes an omamori plaque and sacred 5-color tassel.

This arrow is 28″ (71.1cm) in length.

Duration: This arrow is thought to absorb negative energy and bad luck for one year, so it is traditional to return it to the shrine at the end of the year. In January, returned arrows are ritually burnt to symbolically separate you from any bad luck, and give you and your family a fresh start in the new year.
