Tsubaki Grand Shrine North America 北米椿大神社 is part of Shin Mei Spiritual Centre on Knapp Island, near Sidney, BC. We are a branch shrine of Tsubaki Ō Kami Yashiro 椿大神社in Mie, the second oldest shrine in Japan.
We invite you to join us to celebrate your child of three, five, or seven. These ages are important milestones in your child’s development and times of special divine protection.
Through the Shichi Go San ceremony, we will pray for your child’s continued health, happiness, and long life under the protection of the kami. After the ceremony, your child will receive a traditional Shichi Go San gift bag. This is also a wonderful photo opportunity for your family!
Attire: Children are welcome in western style clothing or in traditional kimono. We can arrange for a kimono dresser and rental if you wish (additional cost).
