These Ema show a snake and the kanji for Kaiun Shōfuku 開運招福 (Inviting good fortune).

The three designs are a beautiful water color design, a cute design, and a treasure bag design.

The Snake has long been revered as a symbol of resurrection and rebirth because it abandons its old skin and is reborn in a new form by molting. These Ema symbolize a chance for a fresh start.

If you have a special request, prayer, or message of gratitude, write your message for the Kami on the Ema and put it up at the shrine, or at home at your sacred space.

Duration: Ema are put up for one year, after which the Kami have received your message. The old Ema are ritually burnt in January to symbolically separate you from your concerns and give you a fresh start for the year.
