This week, we completed the annual ceremony for Kinomori Jinja.

We opened the doors to the shrine in the forest, expressing our gratitude to the kamisama for all we have received. And asking for protection and guidance in the year to come.

The kami enshrined in Kinomori Jinja, in the sacred forest of Knapp Island are: Chinju no Mori no Kamigami (the many kami of the Forest); Sarutahiko no O Kami (kami of guidance and protection); and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto (kami of positiveness, meditation, marriage, and the arts).

We were happy to have lovely, soft rain during the ceremony–much needed after such a dry summer!
